90mil presents The Salon of Coincidence A new semi-regular happening, providing the community with a spicy mix of music, installation, performance, and surprises. The Salon is open from 8pm - 4am, activating multiple spaces on the 90mil grounds. A lot of people say that 90mil reminds them of the Berlin that existed 10-15 years ago - an energy that has somewhat faded or been forced into submission by rising costs and cultural apathy. Concert and club prices haven’t escaped that, leaving a lot of us dreaming of the days when it was possible to stay out all night and get breakfast in the morning with a 50€ bill. That’s why we’re making this event as accessible as possible: 5-10€ suggested donation at the door, plus the membership card. This is an experiment to see what we can do together in a DIY model, without playing the game of funding or corporate sponsorship. Come play a part - hope to see you there. EXPECTED ORDER OF EVENTS 20:30 LISA HARRES will perform their sublime songbook acoustically in the garden, in the last of the daylight, to open the evening. 22:00 GINI SNC & gainz present a pole dance performance, motion tracked in real time and translated into sound, light, and visuals - a fragmented body of sound in search of beauty. 23:00 Doomsday BFF are a metal band with an experimental outlook. Expect wailing trumpets and cathartic screaming. 00:00 The usual suspects (our ‘secret special guests’ - last seen providing sound effects at the wrestling show) come together again, creating an improvisatory maelstrom of spontaneous mythology, dance music, worldbuilding+destroying forces, pushing towards a future brilliant and unknown. 02:00 (ish) Artist Via offers an interactive analog visual performance where liquids become living lights, evolving in real time with the audience and the music. 02:30 Delwyn provides squishy strangeness for after-hours dancing in the bar. PLUS, there’s a fountain installation by Petr Karpov in the garden, the newly fitted Hopscotch Reading Room truck will be open to browse, and there will be unbelievably delicious Egyptian inspired food by Carole Hassoun & Batata, two friends with a passion for cooking and community. ---------- This event is taking place at 90mil, a non-profit, DIY space near Jannowitzbrücke, Berlin. Entrance is via suggested donation at the door only. You must be a member to enter. You can become a guest member at the door for an annual fee of €5. Your membership is valid for a year - please always bring your membership card!
