無色透明 is formed from two words: colorless and transparent. Colorless means no bias toward any color, a zero on the color axis; transparent is the absence of scattering, allowing what lies beyond to be seen. We take the two as zeros placed on separate axes: colorless the zero of color, transparent the zero of light. They lie on different axes. That is why placing them together brings about a new meaning. The world does not resolve to a single value on one axis. It settles on no value and closes within no single axis. Colorless and transparent is a state and, at the same time, a structure that keeps perception from hardening. The world remains the world; only one’s relation to it changes. It closes within no single way of seeing; none stands as absolute. This is the structure. This structure is attempted as a four-hour field of continuous sound. In art, an experience can be deeply shared without becoming the same. What a work becomes depends on who meets it — on memory, knowledge, the culture one brings. One response is to search for what holds across those differences, a common ground beneath them. This work moves the other way: it takes the difference that lives inside a shared experience and sharpens it. Colorless and transparent is one structure for doing so. Rather than guiding toward a single reading, the work raises no surface between itself and the one who receives it, and lets each background pass through. It is not a vessel that delivers meaning; meaning is not given in advance, but emerges as perception meets the work. The work only opens a space; the descent is the listener's own.
