As part of IN PARALLEL / Currents Berlin For IN PARALLEL, Atemporal presents a live performance by Berlin-based artist, producer and DJ GAKKO (Carolin Schnurrer). Moving between sound performance, electronic music and immersive listening, GAKKO approaches sound through the body — exploring how rhythm, texture and vibration can shape perception, movement and collective experience. Rooted in sound art, deep listening, speculative fiction and somatic psychology, her practice extends beyond conventional music production. She builds custom electronic instruments incorporating human skin and embodied data, creating an intimate relationship between the body, technology and sound. For this performance at Atemporal, GAKKO brings this practice into a live setting, creating an evolving sonic environment that moves between experimental textures, physical frequencies, percussion and moments of intensity. GAKKO has collaborated with artists including Klein, Kode9 and Slic Unit, with work presented through NTS, Refuge Worldwide and Foundation FM, as well as Tate Lates, MIRA Barcelona, Serpentine Galleries Park Nights and Hyperdub’s Night Ø at Corsica Studios. Presented as part of IN PARALLEL — Emerging Practices in Art & Design, Atemporal’s programme for Currents Berlin.
