The Neue Nationalgalerie continues a recently established tradition by inviting everyone to choose its iconic outdoor terrace as their meeting point to prepare and warm up to a world-class DJ set before the Christopher Street Day demonstration passes the iconic Mies van der Rohe building! This year, energy and music are provided by none other than Roi Perez. Admission is free. With an unmistakable approach to the craft, Roi Perez’s extensive DJ-sets anchor dance floors and lock indoor and outdoor spaces into shared frequencies. Focusing all of his artistic energy on DJing, the Berlin-based DJ crafts long, percussive narratives that swing between sweat and sweetness. With an ever-expanding record collection, his sets span groove-led house, organic techno, and the flirtatious heartbeat of a good ballroom. His decade-spanning Panorama Bar residency has shaped his sound signature. In Berghain’s most playful room, Perez has refined a way of mixing that feels expansive without losing intimacy. The same spirit follows him to Dekmantel, Glastonbury Festival and other stages worldwide. Perez’s own party LAUNDRETTE traces dance music back to its queer roots through time-stretching sets and a deep attunement to the room’s collective resonance. Refreshments provided by BRLO Craft Beer.
