Akua is a Ghanaian-American DJ whose roots in North American techno have shaped a distinctive sound that resonates worldwide. Drawing from the raw, machine-driven energy of Detroit, Chicago and New York’s pioneering scenes, she connects techno’s history with its evolving future through deeply intuitive, high-impact sets. Known for her no-nonsense approach and precise mixing, Akua channels authenticity over trends, bringing a timeless yet forward-thinking perspective to dancefloors around the globe. On Saturday, August 31st, we team up with Madrid-based Laster to conclude our August program, welcoming Akua to the OPAN floor alongside Alarico and more. The ROBUS floor features Olivia Mendez, Orbe & Psyk live, Roll Dann and more, while the SUMME floor hosts Shadow Hrym, Nadia Struiwigh and more. Founded in Madrid in 2021, LASTER Club is a Spanish techno movement that has grown beyond its home city, bringing its vision of underground club culture to dancefloors across Europe and beyond. Built by clubbers, for clubbers, LASTER was created with a simple ambition: to build the kind of club experience its founders had always wanted to attend. Rooted in respect, freedom of expression and equality on the dancefloor, LASTER places music and human connection at the centre of every event. Under its signature red light, the project brings together contemporary underground techno, internationally recognised artists and emerging talent, alongside international residents Setaoc Mass and The Lady Machine and local residents Roll Dann, Laia, Shadow Hrym and Liszt. With a distinctive visual identity and carefully curated line-ups, LASTER has taken its concept from Madrid to venues and festivals including RSO, Tillatec, RADION, FOLD, OFF Week Barcelona, Amsterdam Dance Event and Stone Techno Festival, while its tours in Colombia have extended the project’s connection with underground communities beyond Europe.
