Flesh, Ecstasy is the opening programme of Re:Frame 2026, a moving image festival dedicated to East and Southeast Asian cinema and its diasporas, initiated by CiLENS e.V. Returning to the Greek ekstasis - "to stand outside oneself" - the programme asks what happens when it is the body, rather than the conscious self alone, that enters states of transport: through sex, dreams, rebellion, death, migration, and the everyday. Seven works across fiction, animation, and expanded moving image approach the body through distinct modes of storytelling and perception. The evening opens with a listening session by Temple Rat, followed by the screening programme curated by Shuowen SHEN, and closes with a DJ set by CosmoCxndy.
